Foreword
The main purpose of writing this book is that the reader will understand him/herself better and is no longer confused about religious beliefs and opinions, to do away with much of the misunderstanding of Bible interpretation and theology, and to put it in a language everyone can understand. Also, to fill the void between the rapid development of science, from which people profit without accepting the ethical consequences, and religion which concerns itself with the moral and spiritual development of the people. Because the education system follows mainly materialistic sciences, that is, the development and training of the mental faculties, young people are being taught to seek and look for information and instructions outside themselves. They, therefore, do not know that they should also cultivate their more inner faculties and open their “eyes and ears” to the unmanifested Source of all life. Being continually distracted by technology, they are held adrift from their divine center and God. To conceal their inner emptiness, anxiety, hopelessness, despair, and insecurity, they drink (or) take drugs, etc., which is nothing else but a substitute for the “high” of spiritual life.
This manuscript is also written with those in mind who do not have the time to go deep within to seek for the meaning and purpose of their lives, for those whom are disappointed in religion, and also those who want to understand the deeper meaning of their religion and philosophies as being good and divine. Many religions are alike in essence, while different in forms. Judaism, Islam, and nominal Christianity are non-mystical religions, in which the sacred is encountered by the individual outside rather than within themselves. We find esotericism in many systems of belief: Kabbalism and Hassidism in Judaism, Sufism in Islam, Mystics and Saints in Christianity, and many mystics are also found in Hinduism, Buddhism, and other esoteric groups. Many of them believe that the way shower is the Christ Spirit who lives within humans and who appears in the form of our highest ideal, and for many, that is the Universal Christ. Others may look for a bodily avatar, and for them, one will be provided. This writing clarifies and fulfills much of the teaching of Christianity and other non-Christian religions and reaches beyond Christianity to a more universal Christ. It not only attempts to explain the inner meanings of symbols and parables but also integrates the teachings of the Bible with concepts of other religions, philosophies, and with a branch of psychology called the “transpersonal”. In the latter, God is often called the Universal Self, and the Soul or Divine Spirit the transpersonal Self.
NOTE: We can consider ourselves truly educated when we are not only intellectually developed but also spiritually.
This work gives an overview of the stages of growth of the personality or ego mainly in its fallen state. After it has become developed and purifies, it becomes the dwelling of the newly generated Soul or divine center of our being. The Soul or Spirit of Christ also grows through the stages of growth toward maturity as the first step in its eternal development. This paper does not make the mistake of disregarding the old base of morality and spirituality but function on that foundation, thus, not spirituality without ethics or moral standards. The origin and nature of evil should not be dismissed or passed over but must be dealt with if the human race is to progress. Thus, the inherited evil which is deeply embedded in the human spirit or psyche should be completely rooted out; otherwise, it will grow again when committing the same sin. The first step is to remove it from our being is to know how it originated and what its nature is. Thus, the personality needs to be purified, not only by good behavior but also by right emotion, desires, and thought, thus clearing the channel between the lower self (ego) and the budding of Higher Self or Soul.
