Bill Tangen, Springsteen fan, has written the story of the ultimate "Boss" experience. It was published last week.

"Twenty Nights to Rock: Touring With the Boss," is the story of the 10 months Bill and Christine Tangen dedicated to following Springsteen on his "The Rising" tour from Charlotte, N.C. to Jacksonville, Fla., to London, to Giants Stadium, to Pittsburgh - to 20 venues on two continents.

One day in July 2002, at home in Matamoras, "Bill Tangen and his wife, Christine, watched the (TV) tube in amazement as Bruce went back in time and delivered a pulsating version of 'Glory Days,'" says the synopsis of "Twenty Nights to Rock."

"We've just got to see this guy in concert," Bill said to Christine. She agreed.

"And when The Boss went out in on the road, helping a nation heal from the devastating effects of Sept. 11, 2001, Bill and Chris were there ..."

They started with "The Rising" tour on Dec. 8, 2002 in Charlotte, and finished 20 concerts later on Oct. 4, 2003, at Shea Stadium.

Bill has also become a respected Springsteen karaoke singer. He can be heard Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons at Mel's Tavern in Shohola, and Saturday nights at the Flo-Jean Toll House, Port Jervis.

"There will never be another musician to touch fans and perform quite like Bruce Frederick Springsteen," Bill writes. "Humble, humorous, vibrant and multitalented, it is easy to see and hear why Bruce is accorded the honor of being labeled 'The Boss.'"

He hopes to meet The Boss any day now. Inquires are already coming in from all over the U.S. and Europe, Tangen said, and he expects Springsteen is going to want a copy.

Bill and his beloved Chris will be happy to deliver.
