Toulouse on the Loose! is about a French turkey who travels to Washington, D.C., at Thanksgiving time. This naive artist does not quite get the picture, however, and is about to discover why everyone has turkey on their minds. But through the grace of a pigeon who tells all, this very cultured bird does not end up on the chopping block. Toulouse is on the loose once again with his friend pigeon. This time our French feathered friend gets tangled up in lights at the White House while trying to be the star of the tree at Christmas time! Sparking an interest to see the lady Liberty, he reaches his new destination by way of the revolutionary trail from Alexandria, Virginia, to Annapolis, Maryland. While visiting the great Naval Academy, he becomes quite the sailor. His first mate, Pigeon and new found friend Copernicus, the mouse, accompany him from the great Chesapeake Bay to the Hudson River. Along the way they face many tempests and adventures in their own ship, which they'e nicknamed the Nautilus.
