Summary
“If the shoe fits you, wear it,” my mom would say, as another pair shoes was passed down to me. New shoes were hard to come by in a family of seven with two girls before me. It was not unusual for me to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes. Pass downs, they were called. They had traveled so many places before me. With a warm heart a young girl courageously wears passed down shoes. She eagerly awaits a new pair of shoes that are her very own. The memory of her sight impaired godmother who selects shoes for her with her heart is cherished forever.
