Legal Profession has Changed
The legal profession has transformed over the last 30 years. Many of these changes have made practicing law more difficult and less satisfying. The “Fundamental Issue”
At age 50, many people have an epiphany. Initially, the issue concerns the “quantity” of our remaining youthful years. Then the focus shifts to our desire for the “quality” of these years to be fulfilling and/or significant. A major component of the epiphany is the realization that now “time is of the essence.”Benefits of Executive-Consulting
We spend almost 25 years going to school and another 25 years building a legal career and raising a family. Every attorney has earned the right to experience the joys and benefits of their legal career and they deserve the opportunity to create something special and fulfilling for these years before retirement.Executive-consulting (a.k.a., “coaching”) is designed to make the process faster, easier and more likely to succeed. Even Tiger Woods, the world’s greatest golfer, engages coaches to amplify his undisputed genius.
Succinct Treatment of the Issues
This concise 100 page book was written to the attorney who has been practicing law over 20 years. The goal was to condense the book into a succinct treatment of the issues so that it would assist the reader in generating inspiration and taking action in chosen directions.
Bob Barasa is the son, grandson, nephew and cousin of attorneys and he has practiced law in Chicago for more than 30 years. Initially working as a government attorney for Cook County, Illinois, he has maintained a private practice for the last 25 years.
In addition to practicing law and raising a family, he found the motivation to obtain a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a co-inventor of a specialized restaurant equipment device. This story is outlined in Crossroads.
Twelve years ago, he became involved in life-coaching with almost two years of professional life-coaching training from the Coach Training Institute, headquartered in San Rafael, CA. He now specializes in executive-coaching for the attorney over the age of 50 as a way of facilitating “inspiration” within the legal profession.
