Summary
The author of this inspiring book tells about the important life lessons he learned from working in the family garden. Personal anecdotes take the reader from the planning and nurturing of the garden--with the arduous, time-consuming work required to make it successful--through the gathering and selling of the crops. Many of the stories are humorous and heart-warming, especially the ones about Jack, the family's pet burro, while others have a more serious side. However, with the close of autumn and the completion of the harvest, there has been much observation, reflection, and self-examination. Valuable, life-defining lessons have been learned from the garden cycle, lessons about leadership, teamwork, keeping promises, integrity, sharing, responsibility, making friends, salesmanship, quality control, marketing, and negotiating. This introspective book is a must read not only for anyone who loves to garden but also for entrepreneurs, leaders, managers, sales persons, or people who are simply searching for a message of integrity to stimulate themselves or elevate those around them. Everyone will find this book a helpful catalyst. Life Lessons from My Father's Garden, written in a simple, easy-to-read, entertaining format, contains life-changing lessons that will increase any reader's productivity.
