Summary

The message of Christmas is giving. For children it is receiving from Santa. The lessen from honoring giving and receiving is that both express love and joy - the true spirit of Christmas. Children in nearly every culture have a Santa who is eagerly awaited through rituals of significant importance to children. Florida Santa brings unique variations - no chimneys, too hot for fur boots, key lime pie and whipped cream instead of cookies and milk, helpers who drive trucks they can steer and Florida Santa himself arriving suitably dressed in flip-flops and shorts. Florida Santa - Is He Real? How Do We Know It? is a story told by four-year old Matthew who visits with his sister at grandparents in Florida. His anticipation and exciting preparations for Christmas celebrations are overwhelming to Matthew. He raises many questions and seeks answers and assurances from big sister Amelia. Grandma is called to provide a comforting explanation of just how Florida Santa does his annual duties. These assurances confirm that Florida Santa is Real. Florida Santa, as Santa's everywhere, is "not just a guy who brings toys, but rather the spirit of Santa is giving - the true Christmas JOY." Florida Santa is a unique and value-rich book to add to any child's Christmas Library.
