About the Author
Born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1970, Samuel Bernstein is the award-winning writer of the Paramount and Showtime film Bobbie's Girl, which he also co-produced. The film also won an Emmy nomination for star Bernadette Peters, a G.L.A.A.D. Media Award nomination, and an Advocate designation as "Top Ten" for the year. Multi-festival award-winning Silent Lies was his first feature film, as both writer and as producer. HIs television credits include the ABC/Disney show W.I.T.C.H. and Judging Amy. Bernstein's next film project is writing and directing Lulu, a surreal take on silent screen star Louise Brooks.
Bernstein is also a prolific writer. He is the winner of a Stonewall Book Award from the American Library Association for his work on Uncommon Heroes and is currently working on Kill Your Inner Child, a memoir about his bafflingly unconventional upbringing, available for viewing in-progress at www.killyourinnerchild.com, and soon to be a web/mobisode digital media project from Hearst. Bernstein makes his home in West Hollywood, California, with partner Ronald Shore and their three incorrigible miniature dachshunds.
