About
the Book
Too much stress makes life
a mess! This is not what God wants for your life. God has a wonderful
plan for you. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give
you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
Dr. Helen A Mendes, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of
California, has over forty years of experience helping people solve
a range of stressful problems. In God's Stress Management Plan she draws upon the Bible and psychological insights to give practical
advise for implementing God's plan for your life.
At the core of God's plan is that you are to accept His love and deeply
love Him, in return. This fervent love relationship becomes the foundation
of developing a healthy love of yourself and other people.
A strong love relationship with God helps you obey Him so that you are
open to receive the blessings and guidance He is eager to give you.
Then you will be better equipped to navigate the often treacherous twists
and surprising turns of your life's journey. As you turn away from a
selfish, egotistical love of yourself to a godly self-love, you will
treat yourself in ways that promote physical, mental, emotional, social
and spiritual health. Thereafter, when you love people, as you have
learned to love yourself, your family, friends, co-workers and others
will be more willing to relate to you in ways that are supportive and
less stressful.
God's Stress Management Plan teaches you practical and proven
ways to use ten biblical principles in your everyday life, so that God
can bless you with the more stress-resistant life He plans for you.
