Gloria McIlwain is the author of "TUT Language." She was born in Methuen, Massachusetts and has lived in San Francisco, California for the past 35 years. Her first article on the "TUT Language" appeared in American Speech, a quarterly of linguistic usage, edited at Duke University and published by The University of Alabama Press for the American Dialect Society.
