About the Book

Dr. Toye was at the peak of her career. A graduate of one of the nation's top medical schools, she was a partner in a successful radiology practice. Divorced, a mother of two young daughters, she was confident, competent and in control of her destiny—until the morning she couldn't get out of bed.

Without warning, Dr. Toye fell victim to a rare form of Meniere's disease. In an instant, life as she knew it was over. A chronic, debilitating illness robbed her of the ability to perform the simplest of tasks. Unable to care for her children or her patients, she felt she had lost everything. In fact, the loss of her medical practice proved to be permanent.

A scientist by training, Dr. Toye had not relied on faith for answers. Logic and deductive reasoning were her guides. She is the last person she would have expected to offer a first person account of a mystical experience. And yet, that was her experience. For in the depths of physical pain and emotional anguish, she found God.

About the Author

Catherine Helene Toye, M.D. was born in New York. She received her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine and completed the remainder of her medical training, internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center.
