Summary
In Women’s Cardiovascular Health - Every Woman’s Guide to Her Heart, Dr. Deepika Gopal gives her female readers and the men in their lives, a description of the heart and of the vascular system, which is the arteries and veins in the body, and of disease states affecting them. She describes in easy-to-understand terms everything they need to know about cardiovascular disease, diagnostic tests, and treatment of the number one killer of men and women. Dr. Gopal also addresses the gender differences in heart disease. After reading this book cover-to-cover, readers will have a thorough understanding of heart and vascular disease. They’ll know how to “listen to their hearts” to determine what symptoms they may be having, and discover what they can do to mitigate the risks of developing this killer disease. Dr. Michael Mack writes in his Foreword, “This book captures the distinctive eloquent and direct but caring and compassionate narrative style that Dr. Gopal uses when caring for her patients. It is comprehensive without being verbose, instructive without preaching and scientific yet understandable. She has succeeded in taking complex medical issues and explaining them in clear narrative style that makes them understandable to the casual reader and consumer of health care. Who should read this book? Every woman and the other significant individuals in their lives who need to become better informed and educated about women’s heart health and disease.”
